One You Lincolnshire are excited to announce that we are one of the referral partners for the Wheels For Life scheme. The Wheels For Life scheme is Lincolnshire’s first bike donation initiative, where donated bikes will be refurbished by qualified volunteer bike mechanics, to then be distributed to those who are most in need. Not only will you receive are furbished bike, but you will also receive helmet, lights, and bike lock.
Who is eligible for Wheels For Life?
If you are 16 years old and meet one or more of the criteria below you may be eligible to access this scheme:
· I’m in transport poverty.
· I’m ethnically diverse.
· I’m on universal credit.
· I’m unemployed.
· I’m a refugee.
Where is my nearest bike hub to me?
There are 6 cycle hubs around Lincolnshire where you will be able to collect a bike. These are at the following locations:
· Grantham
· Holbeach (Boxes for hope)
· Holbeach (Tonic Health)
· Lincoln
· Louth
· North Hykeham
How do I access this?
If you are already being supported by OYL, you will just need to speak to your OYL practitioner who will be able to make the referral into Wheels For Life. This is a simple process and if eligible, you will be contacted by someone at your preferred bike hub to make necessary arrangements.
